You Can Regain Control of Your Life!
Is there anything worse than a bad headache? I’ve had the dubious fortune to compare my own crippling low back pain and the pain of bad pressure headaches, and I think I’d rather be unable to get out of bed than suffer through the headache for one moment longer.
What surprises me is how long people suffer and put up with this situation.
But no, I get it. Of course you want to feel good, free of pounding pain, sensitivity to light, sound, and movement. I’m sure you’ve tried plenty to get there.
It’s just that nothing has worked. And maybe even over time, all the stuff that happens in life gradually builds up and you find yourself trying to get by, until there’s yet another headache or migraine. It’s just one more thing you have to deal with. That is, if they’re not too bad...
But if they are, then the sharp pains, dull aches, strange sensitivities, and of course, trying to figure out what the “triggers” are, so you can avoid ever doing them again... They all add up to make you wonder if you can make it through your day, get a few things done, without paying for it, or if today’s another one lost to the haze, fog, and pain of a headache.
Frustration and anxiety set in as you continue to try, but are left constantly wondering if this is just what your lot in life is going to be. Might there also be a bit of fear that it could mean something worse is looming? How much longer will you be able to do the things you love, or will you resign yourself to your fate?
Does this sound too familiar?
You do NOT have to accept that your body is meant to break down or is going to hurt for the rest of your life!
Here is the problem: The current approach to health and wellness has trained us to think that there is a point in life where the body will just break down, and that medications and surgeries are the only answer. We are expected to accept that headaches and migraines are just things that some people will experience, because of genetics, or something. And if you’re one of those lucky people, your options quickly become limited to medication to dull pain, injections to paralyze overly tense muscles, finding and burning the responsible nerves, or even surgery to add shunts and the like. Or, just accepting that you’re going to keep hurting.
People rarely talk about where that approach leads. You will still have a body that feels like it is betraying you and you will be trapped in the mentality that you just have to live with it while managing the symptoms as best as possible.
What if there was another option?
No one should have to spend years, months, or even another day of worry and concern about avoiding things that are going to trigger another debilitating headache or migraine, let alone spend the time suffering through them when they are inevitably set off again.
You've likely spent too long already trying to figure things out and been let down by the healthcare system. You may feel trapped by the fear, frustration, and lack of control over your life that happens when you are stuck in pain, dependent on medications, or permanently careful about your activities, unable to do what you want.
Stop getting jerked around by the ups and downs of trying everything only to be let down again. And don't spend another dime on things that aren't working.
Life is meant to be enjoyable. And for headaches and migraines, there is something better than medication, injections, surgery, and endless stretching and exercises that don't help. Our bodies can and ought to work well. You can stop the madness.
Consider that your body is wiser than you've appreciated
Let us help you reconnect with that wisdom. As you do, you will learn to heal in ways you have not been able to allow until now. And you will start to feel good again.
The Approach You Have to Life and Your Body Matters
One of my favorite headache stories was one of my first clients. Jenny had suffered with daily headaches since before she was a teenager, and was then nearly forty at the time. Her headaches were so bad that most days they caused her nausea and even vomiting, for thirty years!
Her father was a chiropractor and of course he had tried to help her, but the headaches persisted. Well, by this point, she wasn’t even trying to address them anymore. She was actually looking for help with her posture and the mobility in her shoulders. She didn’t mention the headaches. Until they started going away, that is. That got her attention!
How did working on her shoulders and neck help the headaches to finally go away? Simple, it improved the environment and working conditions her head was operating within. As the tissues of her shoulders and neck softened and allowed more movement, the joints could move properly, the circulation and fluid flow in her head improved, and there was less pressure and stress throughout.
Can You Imagine Her Relief?
How about another story?
Vanetta became a client when her life was derailed by an unrelenting, painfully debilitating headache, with dizziness.
Actually, she became a client when four months later, after getting all the tests and trying everything the doctor suggested, nothing had helped, or had made it worse.
As the tightened tissues surrounding the sensation of “an ice pick in the base of her head” were eased, as the clenched, bracing muscles and thickened glued tissues in the rest of her body were softened, Vanetta regained her life bit by bit.
What made the difference? An approach that paid attention not only to the place that was hurting, but also to the contributing factors throughout her whole body. Everything else had focused on “making the pain go away,” typically in a very short-sighted way. Luckily for Vanetta, none of that had worked, else she’d probably still be trying to fend off the headaches with temporary “fixes.”
In both cases, the approach taken made the difference. Do you want to continue believing that the spot that hurts is the only spot to pay attention to? Or that surgery and drugs are your only options?
Might there be a better way?
The belief you have as to why you hurt determines the solution you attempt
Life isn't a lot of fun when you are suffering with headaches or migraines. You try hard. You follow the recommendations of your doctor, your physical therapist, your nutritionist, your online guru, your next door neighbor, the lady selling essential oils, and the Facebook group you just joined. You have a PhD in "google" and you know there is something better than the mentality and physicality you are trapped in! But you are stuck with some beliefs about what is going on and how to best help it.
Is your head really going to continue to hurt and have episodes until you inject or cut into it, because that’s just what your head does?
Or are your head and body doing their best and are overwhelmed because they are constantly handling ongoing things (and struggling with them) that are never resolved?
Could there be a better explanation of headaches and migraines that allows for solutions - so that healing, long lasting relief, and feeling good are possible?
Like You, We Are Frustrated That Medication and Injections Are the Most Common Recommendations for Headaches and Migraines, Despite Their Lack of Effectiveness at Resolving the Problem
We understand what it's like to feel tired, worried, in pain, and worn out, hoping for a solution that will help your life go better. We know the frustration of searching and trying and failing, wondering if you are the only one struggling. No one should have to wonder how many times your doctor is going to tell you the best you can do is hope to manage it, how many activities you are going to have to modify, or when you should just give up.
Stop Pushing Through Life, Pretending to Be Okay
The vast majority of people suffer with some form of un-resolving pain that limits life and their enjoyment of it for a significant length of time. Headaches and migraines are common and one of the worst pains to “get by with”. The situation is easy to overlook, because you can still get around and people don’t really see the pain you’re in. Many people suffering the crippling effects of headaches or migraines wonder if they will ever feel 'normal' again.
If you believe there is better than you have been told you can expect, keep reading.
You can get back your confidence and trust in your head (and body) and actually feel good as you carry on an enjoyable life. You can live life in a way that does not drag you out and beat you down.

Hear From People Who Feel Great!
MFR was one of the best things I've chosen to do for myself.
I was feeling limited in what my body was capable of doing when I was going to dance class.
My posture, especially in dance, I would see this “C” curve. I was out of ideas for what to do by myself… my dance instructor told me I should try myofascial release. It has made a huge difference. And, oh yeah, I used to have headaches every single day! I would get nauseated and was throwing up almost every single morning, just feeling yucky all the time.
That doesn't happen anymore. That used to be my regular, every day. I was missing out on all of it, because I was so tired, because I just didn't feel good, I didn’t get to do as many of the things with my family or with my friends that I would want to do.
I grew up with chiropractic, and that was good, but for me, myofascial release is cumulative – each treatment builds upon the last.
I hadn't tried really very much, honestly. I didn't do much self care, I just kind of thought this is my body, this is what it does, this is just sort of what I'm stuck with – and that's not true. I've learned that big time, it's not true. There's so much more that can be done.
I had no idea what myofascial release was, but it was kind of my last option for help with intense, debilitating headaches, incredible muscle tension and pain in my neck, shoulder and jaw, and dizziness every time I moved. I really, really hurt, and my life had come to a sudden, screeching halt.
I was 38 and had pretty much given up on returning to an active lifestyle as a wife and mother. There were so many things I couldn’t do anymore—taking care of my family, teaching, running, playing the piano, driving, sitting for prolonged periods of time, shopping, reading, sleeping, or visiting with friends. Even talking hurt. I had essentially been on bed rest for several weeks, been through traditional physical therapy for what was diagnosed as tension headaches and a straightened cervical spine, had x-rays and an MRI which showed 2 disc protrusions, consulted with a neurologist to rule out nerve damage, been prescribed multiple rounds of strong pain killers and muscle relaxants, spent a few weeks in a cervical collar, used heat packs and ice packs and experimented with a TENS unit, visited a chiropractor, and tried acupuncture/acupressure. At one point my doctor recommended a spinal tap to rule out meningitis. The MRI was to rule out a brain tumor or aneurysm. Nobody really knew what was wrong.
Michael helped me after a few severe auto accidents. I'd gone through physical therapy and chiropractic, but still had weakness, pain, and memory loss. He helped me notice issues with my posture that rooted in the lower back, rather than my neck and shoulders like I thought. He also brought out issues in my ribcage, from my body hitting and wrapping around the seatbelt with the accident. He noticed and took care of much more - but these two were the most memorable and I improved quickly. I was much more mobile and able to lose the weight I'd gained after the accidents as a result.
He is quite intuitive - and I'd have to also say inspired as he treats patients. My word choices don't even cover what he can do. He helps YOU when you are with him. I respond better to what he does than assembly-line medical care, and I'm so glad that I know him.
